The electromagnetic force plays a main role in determining the interior properties of the objects met in daily life. Normal matter takes its procedure as a result of intermolecular forces between separate atoms and molecules in matter, and appearance of the electromagnetic force. Electrons are bound by the electromagnetic force to atomic nuclei, and their orbital shapes and their effect on nearby atoms with their electrons is defined by quantum mechanics. The electromagnetic force rules the processes involved in chemistry, which arise from interactions between the electrons of neighboring atoms. Though electromagnetism is considered one of the four fundamental forces, at high energy the weak force and electromagnetic force are combined as a single electroweak force. In the past of the universe, during the quark epoch the combined force broke into the two distinct forces as the universe cooled.
